Exporting Data from SOMLS – Southern Oregon

In selecting data from SOMLS be sure to select the options below:

On the “Statuses” option make sure that all the statuses are selected.   Additionally, place the date of “01/01/12” in the dates.  These options will make sure that all the data that is needed to create the appropriate graphs, is collected.  (We want you to search for all status activity for the last two years.)

You should also make your normal selection choice by selecting other options that you would normally select in doing a CMA.  In many cases, this may be as easy as selecting a specific neighborhood.

Once you’ve selected the data, you are ready to download the results.  To download the results, select the  button as shown below.

Once you’ve selected the  button, you will see the following screen.  Select the “IRIS Lighting 2000” option and press the  button.

After you select the submit button, the dialog shown below will be displayed.

Select the link and you will be shown a “File Download” dialog box which will enable you to Open or Save the file.  Notice that the file is a “zip” file.  Select “Open” and you will see the following dialog box.  When you open the “zip” file you will several “jpg” or graphics files.  Scroll down to where you see the “listings.txt” file.  That is your export file.  From this dialog box you can just “Drag” the “listings.txt” file to the location of your choice.

·      Be sure to remember where you save your file.  This is the exported file that will be used to create your graphs.

Once you have saved your exported file, you are ready to run the Focus 1st application.  When you run the application you will need to find the exported data file, so make sure that you’ve placed the file in an easy to find place.   We also recommend that you rename the file to a more descriptive file name.  For instructions on how to run the Focus 1st application, be sure to see the on-line tutorials located at www.focus1st.com .
